Jalan Tengah and Kumamoto University Collaborate for Online Seminar in Indonesia

telusur.co.id - Kumamoto University recently held an online seminar through its Liaison Office at Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) in Surabaya, Indonesia. The event took place on July 14, with Ms. Mia Hernawati, a local staff member, introducing the university and its scholarship opportunities. 

Organized by Jalan Tengah, the event was spearheaded by Mr. Arif Nur Muhammad Ansori, an alumnus of the IRCMS Internship Program - 2017, The International Research Center for Medical Sciences (IRCMS), Kumamoto University and Internship Program - 2024, Division of Genomics and Transcriptomics (Prof. Yorifumi Satou), The Joint Research Center for Human Retrovirus Infection, Kumamoto University. 

Additionally, Mr. Arif is also a prospective PhD student at the Graduate School of Medical Sciences, Kumamoto University, Japan for the upcoming October 2024 with the support of a Japanese Government (Monbukagakusho: MEXT) Scholarship.
 
The seminar attracted around 60 participants from various universities and institutions across Indonesia, such as Universitas Indonesia, Universitas Airlangga, Universitas Brawijaya, and so on. The interactive session provided detailed information on Kumamoto University’s academic programs, internship programs, research opportunities, scholarships, and the benefits of studying in Japan. Participants expressed great interest in the internship and scholarship programs, which offer financial support for international students.
 
Mr. Arif, a researcher from the Postgraduate School at Universitas Airlangga, shared his personal experiences and insights on studying at Kumamoto University, highlighting the support systems available for international students. His presentation aimed to inspire and encourage Indonesian students to pursue higher education in Japan, emphasizing the university's commitment to fostering global talent.
 
The event concluded with a Q&A session, where participants had the opportunity to engage directly with the speakers. The seminar successfully strengthened the academic ties between Kumamoto University and Indonesian institutions, paving the way for future collaborations and student exchanges.
